AI models
Overview
auto-post.io routes your campaigns through a curated catalog of AI models for text (articles, outlines, SEO-oriented copy) and images (illustrations for posts). Providers and available models evolve over time: new options, credit prices, and capability badges are always current on the product.
Authoritative catalog (per-model credit cost, descriptions, and filters): auto-post.io/ai-models
This documentation explains how to think about models and credits in the app. It does not duplicate the live list, which changes frequently.
What you see on the catalog
On auto-post.io/ai-models you can browse and compare models using filters and tags (labels match the live page), for example:
- Recommended, Smart, Cheapest, New to narrow choices by role or budget
- Preview for newer or experimental entries
- Web search (where offered) for models that can use retrieval or grounding for fresher facts
Use these together with the displayed credit value to pick text models for writing and image models for visuals.
Credits (how to read them)
- Credits are per model, not a single fixed price for “an article”. Longer articles, image generation, and premium models consume more credits than short text on an efficient model.
- Text and image use separate models in the catalog. For campaign-generated articles, featured image generation cannot be turned off: each campaign always uses a text model and an image model. To spend fewer credits on visuals, pick a lower-credit image model (see auto-post.io/ai-models).
- Exact numbers for each model appear only on auto-post.io/ai-models. For plan limits and buying credits, see Pricing and credits.
Providers
The catalog includes models from these providers. Each line may be text, image, or multimodal: open the card on auto-post.io/ai-models to see capability, credits, and badges.
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- Mistral AI
- Meta
- Arcee AI
- Black Forest Labs
- ByteDance

- Qwen
- Pexels (stock imagery where enabled, alongside generated image models)
TIP
If a provider is new to you, open auto-post.io/ai-models, filter by Cheapest or Recommended, and read the short description under each card before locking it into a campaign.
Choosing a model in practice
Start from the catalog, not from memory
- Open auto-post.io/ai-models.
- Pick both a text model and an image model for campaigns (images are always generated; you only choose which image model and its credit cost).
- Use Recommended or Smart for a strong default, or Cheapest for volume and testing.
- If you need up-to-date facts, prefer entries that show Web search (when available).
- Set the same model (or a different one) per campaign in the app when you need different quality or cost per site or content type.
Content shape (high level)
- Long or technical pieces: favor models tagged Smart or premium-tier credits on the catalog.
- High volume, simpler posts: use Cheapest or lower-credit text models.
- Illustrations: pick an image provider row that matches your style (photoreal, illustration, stock). Credits vary widely; check each card.
Languages
European, Asian, and multilingual use cases are supported across the catalog. Prefer trying two or three candidates from auto-post.io/ai-models for your language and niche rather than assuming a single “best” model.
Best practices
- Trust the catalog for price and availability, not static tables in docs.
- Match spend to complexity: avoid max-cost models for short, simple posts.
- Always budget for images: campaign articles include a featured image by default, and image generation cannot be disabled.
- Re-test after catalog updates: new models often improve quality per credit.
- Keep one “baseline” model per workflow, then experiment with one alternative at a time.
Troubleshooting
Model missing or grayed out
Check your plan, region, or account limits. If it should be available, contact support with the model name as shown on the catalog.
Quality or tone off
Try another model tier, tighten keywords and campaign instructions, or switch between providers. Heavier models are not always better for every niche.
Higher credit use than expected
Check article length targets and which text and image models are selected. Image generation cannot be disabled, so switching to a lower-credit image model is the main way to reduce visual cost. Compare values on auto-post.io/ai-models.
